Probe ordered into UP doctor treating under torchlight

Ballia (UP): The district administration here in Uttar Pradesh has ordered an inquiry into doctor treating a patient under flashlights of mobile phones at a district hospital after a video went viral on social media, a senior officer said here on Tuesday.

The video is said to have been made on September 10. District Hospital In-charge Dr RD Ram said power problems arose after the battery of the generator was being replaced during a load shedding.

District Magistrate Saumya Agarwal said that the inquiry is already underway to find out the veracity of the viral video.

The DM said that the administration has taken a serious cognizance of the incident and proper action will be taken after the inquiry.

In the viral video a doctor was seen examining a woman patient with her mobile’s torchlight.
