Siddu, DKS to hold talks with high command on cabinet formation

New Delhi: After solving the impasse over the next chief minister of Karnataka, the Congress High Command would hold discussions with Chief Minister-designate Siddaramaiah and his deputy DK Shivakumar with regard to cabinet formation and allocation of portfolios here on Friday.

Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot has invited Siddaramaiah and Shivakumar for taking oath on May 20 at 12.30 pm on Saturday at the Kanteerava Stadium in Bengaluru.

After the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) on Thursday formally elected Siddaramaiah as its leader, a Congress delegation met Gehlot at Raj Bhavan and staked claim for forming the next government.

Before flying to Delhi, Shivakumar said Randeep Singh Surjewala, Siddaramaiah and he himself would meet AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge to discuss cabinet expansion and take a decision on it.
