Beirut: Two Hezbollah fighters and a member of the Lebanese Civil Defense were killed on Tuesday in confrontations between Hezbollah and Israeli forces on the border, Lebanese military sources told Xinhua.
The sources, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said that five civilians were also injured during the clashes.
Israeli artillery fired about 250 shells on 34 border villages and towns in Lebanon in addition to airstrikes targeting Lebanon’s southern city of Nabatieh, which is about 25 km from the borderline, the sources said.
The Israeli bombing also destroyed eight houses and caused damage to 29 homes and five civilian cars, according to the sources.
Meanwhile, Lebanese militant group Hezbollah said its fighters bombed Israeli sites, including buildings in the settlements of Motella and Miskav Am and an Israeli command headquarters in Kiryat Shmona, a city in northern Israel.
Hezbollah also said that it targeted a gathering of Israeli soldiers in the al-Raheb site and the Doviev barracks.
The confrontations between Hezbollah and Israel have killed 180 on the Lebanese side, including 128 Hezbollah members and 32 civilians, according to Lebanese security sources.
