Srinagar: Security forces arrested three suspects in Jammu and Kashmir’s Handwara sub-district and recovered arms and ammunition from their possession, officials said.

A cordon and a search operation were launched by joint forces at a village in Langate Handwara last night during which three suspects were arrested.

The three arrested were identified as Mohammad Iqbal Pandith of Bunpora Langate, Sajad Ahmad Shah of Chekparin and Ishfaq Ahmad Malik of Hajin Kralgund, defence officials said.

“Arms, ammunition and incriminating material were recovered from their possession,” officials said.

The arrests took place a day after security forces recovered large quantities of war-like stores from neighboring Kupwara district.
