Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K.Stalin lashed out at BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Opposition AIADMK and said both the parties are having secret alliance.

He was addressing an official function at Pollachi after handing over various welfare assistance schemes to 57,325 beneficiaries, laying foundation for infrastructure projects to the tune of Rs 1,273.51 crores in the Kongu region comprising Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Erode and the Nilgiris districts and commissioning several completed projects.

Accusing the AIADMK of having done nothing for the Kongu region, which it claims was its
forte, the Chief Minister said it was the DMK which understood and listened to the aspiration of the people.

Citing various incidents that took place during the previous AIADMK regime, including the
sensational Pollachi sexual assault case, murder cum heist at the Kodanad estate, police
firing on anti-sterlite protestors at Thoothukudi that claimed 13 lives, Mr Stalin said ““Not
just the Lok Sabha polls, be it any election now, I say with confidence that victory is ours.”

He also claimed that both the AIADMK and BJP had a secret alliance and that the INDIA
Bloc, in which the DMK was a key partner, was working to defeat them in the polls.

It may be noted that the AIADMK, which had lost four successive polls since the 2019 Lok
Sabha elections, Rural and Urban Local body polls, 2021 Assembly elections and the
bypoll to Erode Assembly seat, had already severed its ties with the BJP and also walked
out of the NDA.

It has been repeatedly maintaining that there was no question of reviving ties with the
BJP, which seems to be keeping its options open on this.

He also had a dig at the Prime Minister for not having done anything to the state and
wanted the people should ask him about the projects implemented by his government
in the State when Mr Modi visits Tamil Nadu next week, .

He also refuted Mr Modi’s charge that the projects brought by his government were being
stalled by the DMK.

He wanted Mr Modi should name at least one project that was stalled by the DMK and
sought to know who had stalled the AIIMS Hospital in Madurai that was announced in
2014.
