Zardari held talks with Aleinik on Tuesday on a variety of topics including political, economic, technological, cultural, educational and multilateral cooperation, the statement said.

The two sides agreed to take practical measures to translate mutual goodwill between the two sides into tangible cooperation in different fields, it added.

The ministers expressed their interest in strengthening cooperation within the framework of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the United Nations and other international organizations on matters of mutual interest, and reaffirmed their readiness to support each other, according to the statement.

In addition, Aleinik also met with Pakistani Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and Pakistani Chief of Army Staff Asim Munir.

Aleinik is on an official visit to Pakistan from May 30 to 31.
