Brussels: Belgian diplomat Bernard Quintin said that he was sworn in on Monday as Belgium’s new foreign minister.

“This is a great honor for me. I have been working at the Belgian Foreign Ministry for 23 years, defending the interests of Belgians and Europeans,” Quintin said at a press conference on Monday.

Quintin replaced Hadja Lahbib, who now works in the European Commission.

Quentin previously served as director general for European affairs and coordination at the Belgian Foreign Ministry and was ambassador to Burundi.
