Bill Gates meets JP Nadda, discusses healthcare successes and future collaboration

New Delhi: Former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates met Union minister JP Nadda on Wednesday, and discussed India’s significant advancements in healthcare and future collaborations between the US billionaire’s foundation and the south Asian nation.

During the meeting, Nadda appreciated the achievements made in the Indian healthcare sector in partnership with the Gates Foundation, especially in the areas of maternal health, immunisation and sanitation.

Gates appreciated the ambitious targets set by India in the health sector and committed to partner with the country to achieve these goals.

He lauded the work done by India in reducing the cost of diagnostics and medicines, enabling affordable healthcare services across the world.

According to sources, both sides are ready to renew the memorandum of cooperation in the health sector to continue the partnership.
