Hyderabad: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Bandi Sanjay Kumar extended his heartfelt wishes on International Women’s Day, emphasising the pivotal role of women in society and creation itself.

In a statement released on Saturday, he described women as the embodiment of strength, the root of creation, and the protectors of family and society. He paid tribute to mothers, acknowledging their selfless sacrifices for their children. He also highlighted the invaluable roles played by women as sisters, wives, and companions, stating that “without a woman, there is no creation.”

Bandi Sanjay Kumar asserted that the BJP does not merely celebrate women on Women’s Day but honours them every day. He emphasised that the party reveres women as Lakshmi, Saraswati, and Durga Mata, demonstrating its commitment to women’s empowerment through action rather than mere rhetoric. He cited the election of Droupadi Murmu as India’s first tribal woman President as a testament to the party’s dedication to gender equality.

Lauding Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a leader who actively champions women’s financial independence, he highlighted several key initiatives. Under Modi’s leadership, 4 crore houses have been built and registered in women’s names, with 3 crore more in progress.

The government has provided piped water connections to 8 crore households under women’s names and opened 25 crore Jan Dhan bank accounts exclusively for women. Additionally, loans worth Rs 10 lakh crore have been extended to women entrepreneurs under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana without collateral, enabling financial independence. The Ujjwala scheme has freed 11 crore women from the burden of traditional cooking fuels, while Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana continue to uplift women across the nation.

Criticising political parties that make lofty promises on Women’s Day but fail to deliver, he pointed out unfulfilled pledges of monthly financial assistance, gold, and scooters for women. He accused the current Telangana government of neglecting women’s welfare, failing to curb alcohol-related social issues, and ignoring their promise to eliminate belt shops. He urged the women of Telangana, who carry the legacy of Rani Rudramadevi, to recognize the difference between hollow rhetoric and real empowerment.

He warned that women are intelligent voters who will not be swayed by empty words. “When the time comes, those who deceive with false promises will face the consequences,” he stated, reaffirming BJP’s commitment to women’s development through concrete actions.
