New Delhi: After AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan’s claims of ED raids at his house, AAP MP Sanjay Singh criticised the BJP government and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Monday, alleging that despite repeated reprimands from the Supreme Court for fair investigations, the ED is being used as a weapon by the BJP to disrupt Delhi’s atmosphere before the elections.

In a video message on X, Singh said, “Even though the ED is being repeatedly reprimanded by the Supreme Court, even though they are being repeatedly warned that they should not conduct investigations with malice and their only aim is to keep people in jail. Despite this, today ED reached the residence of Amanatullah Khan, who is an MLA from the AAP, early in the morning to conduct a raid.”

“At a time when his mother-in-law has cancer and has undergone an operation. The lawyer of Amanatullah Khan wrote to ED and sought time,” he added.

Terming the investigation as comedy, Singh said, “The CBI registered an FIR in 2016 in the Waqf Board case but did not arrest Amanatullah Khan. They filed a final chargesheet after six years stating that “no economic crime has been committed.”

“The ACB and ED filed a case in this matter in 2020. The ACB arrested Amanatullah Khan, who later received bail; even the court stated that “no corruption took place,” Singh said.

“Despite this, the ED continued its investigation and raided Amanatullah Khan’s house in 2023 and found nothing. In 2024, ED called Amanatullah Khan to its office and questioned him for 13 hours, and then when called for further questioning, Amanatullah Khan informed that his mother-in-law has cancer and has undergone an operation, requesting some time,” he alleged.

However, the ruthless ED of the dictatorial government arrived for a raid, Singh said, adding, “Just before the elections in Delhi, ED is being used as a weapon by the BJP to disrupt the atmosphere.”

“ED should focus on their work investigations. Even after being reprimanded by the Supreme Court, you (ED) have become a puppet of Modi. This is not right,” he added.

He further asserted that AAP will not bow down against the Modi government despite any tactics and will continue to fight against its dictatorship.
