Cambodian PM promises to create more jobs, further reduce poverty

Phnom Penh: Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet said Tuesday that the government would continue to create more jobs, raise the monthly minimum wage for the garment, footwear and travel goods industry, and further reduce poverty.

The prime minister made the remarks while appearing at a public forum gathering about 18,000 garment factory workers.

“The government will continue to maintain peace and stability, defend sovereignty and territorial integrity, and further promote socioeconomic development for the people,” he said.
