Around 730 KM of border is shared between Nepal and Bihar, and China’s intervention in Nepal has increased, along with this, China is rapidly developing infrastructure in Nepal near the Indian border. And Indian agencies are keeping an eye on such activities taking place in the name of development. SSB is constantly and rapidly working towards the betterment of technical monitoring in the border areas. And there is a plan to strengthen it further with the help of database software.
Soon, in the sensitive areas of open borders, CCTV cameras and lights will be put up in large numbers, and it is being planned to monitor these zones with the help of drones as well. Another plan is all set to work against Chinese propaganda through the radio. It is noteworthy here that with Nepalese radio and media, China has fanned an anti-India movement in Nepal. Soon, some FM stations will start working on the Indian border to talk constantly about the close ‘roti-beti’ relationship shared by India and Nepal. There is around 120 KM of open border with Nepal in Western Champaran.
In the meanwhile, a bridge and even an industrial park are being developed in Indian territory on the border. A bridge is to be made on the River Gandak which will pave way to the Susta village of India, which is now being claimed by Nepal. On the fore lane being developed from Nepal’s Butwal to Narayan Ghat, boards of a Chinese development agency can be seen. This fore lane is merely 25 KM away from the Indian border, and the two-lane road ahead of this is getting joined to the Indian border. It has also been revealed in the Home Ministry’s report that China is encroaching Nepal’s land by tampering with the flow of the rivers there.
