Bringing immense pride to Jammu & Kashmir, Dr Sukhbeer Kour Bajwa, an eminent lawyer practicing at the Supreme Court of India and a proud daughter of Singhpora village in North Kashmir,s Baramulla District has been conferred an Honorary Doctorate by Chicago Open University, USA, for her exceptional contribution to Law and Social Justice.
The honour was bestowed during a grand convocation ceremony in the United States. As seen in the ceremony, Dr Bajwa was dressed in a traditional academic gown and cap, symbolising scholarly excellence, while she proudly held the Honorary Doctorate citation, Letter of Commendation, and a golden award trophy presented by the university. She was also felicitated with a medal of honour, reflecting international recognition of her legal and social work.
According to the citation displayed during the event, the university acknowledged Dr Bajwa’s dedicated legal practice, commitment to constitutional values, and relentless advocacy for social justice, especially for vulnerable and marginalised sections of society. The award specifically recognises her role in strengthening the rule of law and promoting justice beyond borders.
