Hamirpur (HP): Deputy Commissioner, Devasweta Banik has taken cognizance of the bad condition of the Maharal- Dakhyora water supply scheme and ordered the Superintending Engineer of the Jal Shakti Department to take quick steps in this regard and submit its detailed report at the earliest.

This scheme falls in the Barsar assembly segment being represented by Inder Dutt Lakhanpal of the Congress party in the state assembly.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the officials of the Jal Shakti Department had already been instructed to clean the water sources of all drinking water schemes in the district and ensure the supply of clean drinking water to the people.

She said that a report has also been called from the departmental officers regarding the Maharal-Dakhyoda lifts drinking water scheme.

Taking quick cognizance of a news published in the app of a Hindi daily titled ‘Drinking water schemes in Hamirpur: Dirt and odour in sedimentation tank of Maharal-Dakhyoda water project, filter bed full of moss’, this action was taken by the Deputy Commissioner.
