Digital tech need of the day: Yogi

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that digital technology is the need of the day and through it comprehensive change can be brought in the life of every citizen with a transparent system.

Addressing the first G20 Digital Economy Working Group Meeting in the state capital Lucknow, Yogi said, “The speed with which India has not only brought changes in this field during the last 9 years but has also worked to bring about comprehensive changes in the lives of 140 crore population can be an example for all the countries of the world.”

He said that the UP government under the guidance of the Prime Minister is working to provide facilities to a large population of the state by adopting state-of-the-art technology and through digitization of various aspects of governance.

Yogi said, “We all know that almost every sixth person of India’s population resides in UP. Using technology, we are working with such a large population in a completely transparent manner. How people of the state are getting benefited from technology, can be seen in the distribution of food grains to them under the country’s biggest food grains scheme.”

He said that the digital Economy will enable the entire world to become prosperous as one family with the spirit of ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’. “One Earth, One Family, One Future reflects India’s approach of ensuring prosperity for all,” he said.

Yogi said that the first G20 Digital Economy Working Group Meeting being held in Lucknow will give a new direction which will pave the way for the welfare of humanity and will give new ways that will enable the entire world to progress as a whole.

On this occasion, the CM along with the Union Ministers also visited the exhibition organised on Digital Economy. Cultural programs were also organised.

Welcoming the delegates associated with G20, he said that UP is the largest state of India in terms of population. “It also represents the spiritual and cultural heritage of India. UP has 11 per cent of India’s total cultivable land and the state produces 20 percent of the country’s food grains. It also has the best water resources,” he said.

Yogi said that UP is blessed with youth power and is an important base from the point of view of the modern economy, an MSME base is needed, 96 lakh MSME units are also present in the state.

He said, “It is a moment of pride for our country that when India has entered the Amrit year of independence, it is also chairing the group of 20 major prestigious countries of the world under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “We all know that within the last 9 years, PM Modi has played a major role in promoting India’s prestige on the global stage and giving a new direction to the world in every aspect,” he said.

The CM said that in UP, 2.60 lakh farmers are being given the benefit of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, a pension facility for one crore destitute women, disabled and old people through DBT. “Similarly, one crore students within the state get the facility of scholarship through DBT in their accounts. Uniforms, bags, books, shoes, and sweaters are sent to the accounts of 1.91 lakh children studying in Basic Shiksha Parishad schools through DBT and they themselves buy useful things,” he said.

He said, “We are providing all sorts of facilities to the farmers through DBT. We have attached the entire procurement policy with it. In order to make their youth technically capable, we are also providing tablets and smartphones to two crore youth in the state. Work is being done to take these programs forward in the form of a campaign with full commitment.”\\\\

Speaking about the Global Investors Summit, Yogi said, “Today, the result of the implementation of an e-office system within the state is that there has been complete transparency in the functioning of Uttar Pradesh. The state is moving forward in the global world not only for agriculture and its water resources and for youth power but also as a new economy.”

He said, “Representatives of 40 countries participated in the Global Investors Summit held in Lucknow from February 10 to 12. In the entire event, Uttar Pradesh received investment proposals worth more than Rs 33.50 lakh crores. For this also we had to adopt technology and created a digital platform for monitoring any MoU.”

The CM said that to provide a single window facility for the investors, the government has launched Nivesh Mitra portal. “Today, the result is that large-scale investment is being received in UP and the state is moving towards establishing itself as a new economy,” he said.
