While the country is busy celebrating the arrival of its beloved Ganesh Bappa, anti-social elements continue to do what they are the best in. On Tuesday, August 26, in Gujarat’s Vadodara, Hindus were bringing Lord Ganesha’s Murti to their home, and while on the way, eggs were thrown at the Murti in a Muslim-majority area.

After the incident took place and the matter was reported, Hindu organizations reached the spot and the police started investigating into the communally-sensitive matter. Three accused, identified as Sufyan Salim Mansuri, Shahnawaz Mohammad Irshad Qureshi, and a minor, have been detained. Further investigation into the matter is underway, and if other accused are involved in the same, they would also be arrested.

In a press conference held in the matter, the Vadodara police stated that a case had been registered against unknown persons in the case at night itself and swift action began. Within a few hours, following the scrutiny of CCTV footages and technical surveillance, the three accused were caught. Detailed interrogation of the accused is going on.
