Kolkata: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), probing the money trails of various scandals across West Bengal, launched fresh raids at multiple locations in and around the city on Saturday,, official sources said.

The sleuths of the federal agency fanned out in separate groups from the CGO complex in Salt Lake and searched at least five premises, including those on Park Street Mominpur and Garden Reach in south Kolkata.

However, it was not yet clear in connection with which specific case the search operation was being carried out.

Sources said the ED teams, which included women officials and bank employees, were assisted by the central armed forces, which threw a security dragnet around the premises.

They said the ED began the raid at the premises of a practising lawyer in the Park Street area. The advocate was also quizzed.

At Garden Reach, the ED sleuths searched the residence and office of a transporter, identified as Nisha Khan.

The ED officials were also seen at Bindubasini Street in Mominpur of Kidderpore area where a search operation was being conducted

Another ED team began searching a flat, which purportedly belongs to Prasanna Kumar Roy now under arrest in the School Service Commission (SSC) recruitment scam.

Sources said the search operations were continuing at the time of filling this report.
