Aurangabad: Eminent Vastu Visharad Atul Kulkarni asserted that if the history of the ancient city of Aurangabad is to be kept alive, a festival like Ellora-Ajantha Festival is necessary.

The city of Aurangabad is ancient. The city has a history of 22 centuries but this history is now being erased with the passage of time.

He was speaking on last night when a special lecture was held on the MTDC lawn at Purvarang programme under the three -days Ellora- Ajantha International Festival going to start from February 25 onwards at Soneri Mahal here.

He further said that the city of Aurangabad has a long history and has historical architecture. The city has a history of 52 Darwaza Bibi Ka Maqbara, Panchakki has many historical buildings but these buildings are disappearing now they are in a bad condition It takes 35 years to prepare the DP plan of the city but the Malik who built the city Malik Ambar built it in 19 years we are proud of this history should be today, Dagdimahal, a historical heritage, has disappeared from the map of Vastu city, like the Government Arts College. These structures were supposed to be preserved but were neglected,he expressed.

The city is known for having 24 Mughal Gardens out of which Himayat Bagh has been neglected due to neglect. It needs to be noted that the sculptures found in the cities of Aurangabad since the 22nd century are now on the verge of extinction.

While identifying Aurangabad, it should be identified as City of Garden, City of Temple, City of Painting, City of Underground Water Supply.

Mr Kulkarni also expressed the hope that the entrance of the city, which is known as the city of doors, should be improved.
