The Ministry of Home Affairs has suspended the FCRA license of the Centre for Policy Research (CPR) over violation of laws. The CPR was under scrutiny after Income Tax surveys on it in September last year.

CPR in its Annual Report 2022 listed down Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Oak Foundation, Hanns Sidel Foundation, Namati Inc, and World Resources Institute amongst its list of prominent donors.

Namati Inc in the Year 2022, donated Rs 3.6 crores to CPR while World Resources Institute donated Rs 88.92 lakhs.

Interestingly, global economic terrorist George Soros’s Open Society Foundation is one of the Network Members of Namati Inc and also funds the Open Society Justice Initiative.

This is what Open Society Foundation talks about its relationship with Namati Inc

“At the Open Society Foundations, we believe strongly in the importance of the rule of law, which guarantees the rights of the individual. But justice requires the law must also be available to everyone, no matter their economic or social position, an objective that we have embraced since we were founded in the early 1990s. These efforts now include supporting Namati, a new group focused on this issue of what the development and legal community call legal empowerment.”

Namati Inc is the legal empowerment partner of the George Soros-led and funded Open Society Foundation.

The Global Legal Empowerment Initiative (GLEI) is an operational collaborative effort between Namati, a new international organization dedicated to legal empowerment, and the Open Society Justice Initiative, which has deepened and expanded its work in the field.

GLEI seeks to build the field of legal empowerment in a comprehensive and coordinated manner. It works to collect evidence on the impact of legal empowerment, explore the field with innovative interventions, and facilitate the sharing of experiences among diverse legal empowerment practitioners around the world. It encourages and enables development agencies, foundations, and governments to support legal empowerment efforts effectively and efficiently.

Together the Open Society Justice Initiative and Namati have established a Global Legal Empowerment Network of over 900 individuals from over 300 legal empowerment groups around the world.

On the OSF website its states, “Namati has been established as an independent initiative. It receives core financial support from UKAid, the Open Society Foundations, and AusAid, and received initial institutional support from the Open Society Justice Initiative.”
