German delegation on a visit to Sikkim: Calls on Governor & CM

Gangtok: Parliamentary Committee on Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection from the Federal Republic of Germany led by Chairman Herald Ebner (MP) on a visit to the State called on Governor Ganga Prasad at Raj Bhavan here.

Governor stressed on ways and means to save the Earth through chemical free farming.

He urged them to replicate the Sikkim model of Organic farming and assured all support.

The delegation discussed the global environmental crisis, global warming, extinction of certain species and plastic waste pollution with the Governor.The need to have specific policies was also focused on.

Later,the German delegation met the Chief Minister PS Tamang at Mintogang, his official residence on Monday.

The Chief Minister has described it as a fruitful meet.

’We had a fruitful meet and the State Govt looks forward to collaborating and exchanging ideas to enhance endeavours towards environmental conservation protection ,cleanliness and waste management,’ disclosed the CM Tamang.

The delegation visited Namchi South Sikkim,earlier and appreciated the view,’enjoyed a

breathtaking view of Mount Khangchendzonga from Assamthang, Namchi.’
