Goa has once again set a benchmark in governance, winning seven prestigious SKOCH Awards under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant. These awards, given after independent outcome-based assessments, celebrate initiatives that truly impact the lives of citizens and reflect the state’s commitment to innovation, transparency, and people first governance.

The recognition spans multiple sectors, showing how Goa is taking a holistic approach to development. The Finance Department’s Data Analytical Cell was honored for the Kosh Data Management Platform, strengthening financial planning and transparency. Similarly, the Goa Waste Management Corporation was recognized for its state initiatives in waste management, highlighting the government’s focus on sustainability and a cleaner environment.

Efforts to nurture the younger generation also stood out, with the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs winning for ‘Khelo Goa’ Centres, which bring world class sports opportunities closer to communities. The Department of Women and Child Development was recognized for improving childhood nutrition through Anganwadis, reflecting a deep commitment to health and well being from an early age. In the education sector, the Directorate of Technical Education earned accolades for introducing coding and robotics education in schools, equipping students with the skills needed for the future.

Public safety and citizen empowerment were also celebrated. The Goa Police Department was awarded for its ‘Spot the Scam’ and radical content analyzer, a step forward in ensuring cyber safety, while the Department of Legal Metrology was recognized for organizing Packers Registration cum FSSAI License Camps for self-help Groups, supporting entrepreneurship and compliance.

Chief Minister Dr. Sawant congratulated all the departments, saying, ‘I congratulate our departments for being honoured with seven prestigious SKOCH Awards. They reaffirm our commitment to innovation, transparency, and impact driven governance, inspiring us to keep raising the bar for the welfare and prosperity of Goa.’

These awards not only honour Goa’s initiatives but also highlight the state as a national example of how tradition, technology, sustainability, and inclusive development can come together to create a meaningful impact for citizens.
