Gunfire between forces, suspected terrorists in Poonch

Jammu: A brief gunfire ensued this morning between security forces and suspected terrorists and an encounter was triggered in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

“A contact was established after suspected movement of two individuals was observed by our troops along the fence in general area of Poonch sector,” said a defence spokesperson.

He said an operation is under progress.

Meanwhile, sources said that two terrorists of Lashkar-e-Toiba are believed to be trapped in the area cordoned by a joint team of the police, Army and Special Operation Group.
