Huang, Sheng deliver China’s first gold at Paris Olympics

Paris: In an impressive start to China’s Paris Olympics journey, world champion shooters Huang Yuting and Sheng Lihao secured the first gold medal of the Games by clinching victory in the 10m air rifle mixed team event on Saturday.

The Chinese duo, both teenagers, showcased their exceptional skill and composure at the Chateauroux Shooting Center. They faced off against South Korea’s Keum Ji-hyeon and Park Ha-jun in the gold medal match, emerging victorious with a score of 16-12.

This victory not only highlights their individual prowess but also sets a positive tone for China’s performance in the ongoing Olympics.

Earlier in the day, the bronze medal was awarded to Kazakhstan’s Alexandra Le and Islam Satpayev. They delivered a dominant performance to defeat Germany’s Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich with a score of 17-5.
