New Delhi: Jai Anmol Ambani, son of Anil Ambani, will join the investigation for the second consecutive day in connection with a Rs228 crore bank loan fraud case registered by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against Reliance Home Finance Ltd and others.

On Friday, he was questioned by the CBI for the first time in the matter for about 6.5 hours. After recording his statement, the agency allowed him to leave. He has been asked to appear again on Saturday for further questioning by a special team of the CBI.

The case was registered by the federal probe agency on December 6, 2025.

Jai Anmol Ambani, Ravindra Sudhalkar, along with unknown persons and unidentified public servants, have been named as accused in the case.

“Jai appeared before the Investigating Officer on Friday and was examined for about 6.5 hours. For further examination, the accused was directed to appear before the Investigating Officer on Saturday as well,” said a senior CBI official.

The CBI registered a criminal case against Reliance Home Finance Ltd. (a company of the Reliance ADA Group), its promoters/directors and unknown bank officials based on a complaint filed by union Bank of India. The complaint alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and criminal misconduct, causing a wrongful loss of Rs228.06 crore to union Bank of India (formerly Andhra Bank).

The account of Reliance Home Finance Ltd. was declared a Non-Performing Asset (NPA) in 2019 and was later classified as fraud in 2024 by union Bank of India.

Reliance Home Finance Ltd. had availed loans amounting to Rs5,572.35 crore from 18 banks, financial institutions, NBFCs and corporate bodies, including union Bank of India. A detailed investigation is underway to probe allegations that the company defrauded multiple banks and financial institutions.

Earlier in 2025, the CBI obtained search warrants from the court of the Special Judge for CBI in Mumbai and conducted searches at two official premises of Reliance Home Finance Ltd., the residential premises of Jai Anmol Ambani son of Anil Ambani and former director of the company and the residence of Ravindra Sudhalkar, former CEO and Whole-Time Director of RHFL, all located in Mumbai.

Several incriminating documents were seized during the searches.
