Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police is carrying out searches at three locations in the Valley in connection with a case related to online threat to journalists.

Police said the searches were being conducted in Srinagar, Budgam and Pulwama districts.

The searches are being conducted subsequent to the leads received from searches carried out a few days ago in the case, police said.

“Searches are going on in multiple locations in Srinagar, Badgam and Pulwama districts in connection with ‘online journalists threat’ case. This is subsequent to the leads received from searches done few days ago in same case,” Srinagar police said in a tweet.

The searches are being carried in a case registered in Police Station Sherghari Srinagar against Lashkar-e-Taiba and its offshoot “ The Resistance Front” for online publication and dissemination of direct threat letters to journalists and reporters based in Kashmir.

Five Kashmiri journalists had resigned after these threats.

On Saturday last, Police had carried out searches at 12 locations in Kashmir, including the premises of several scribes, in connection with the alleged threat issued by the militants to the Journalists.
