On Wednesday, December 13, on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack, the Lok Sabha saw the intrusion of four ‘protestors’ in all, three men and a woman, raising slogans and throwing smoke cannisters inside and outside the Parliament premises. The incident took place at around 1 PM in the afternoon, during the zero hour in the lower house, just before the lunch break. A commotion was suddenly heard in the background when BJP MP Khagen Murmu was raising some points regarding his constituency.

A man could then be seen, who had already jumped from the gallery and was on the benches. Jumping from bench to bench, the intruder then started proceeding towards the front of the hall. Lok Sabha members then could be heard saying, ‘pakdo, pakdo’, or ‘catch him’, and then the speaker, Om Birla, adjourned the house.

Along with this intruder, another man had jumped into the Lok Sabha as well, and both of them were carrying canisters from which they sprayed yellow-coloured smoke. These attackers could also be heard raising slogans which said, ‘Kaale kanoon wapas lo’ (Take back the black laws), and ‘Tanashahi nahi chalegi’ (Dictatorship won’t do).

A similar scenario was also witnessed outside the Parliament premises at the same time. Two other ‘protestors’, a man and a woman, were releasing yellow and pink smoke from cans, The woman protestor could be heard raising the slogans of ‘tanashahi nahi chalegi’, ‘Manipur ko insaaf do’, ‘Samvihdan bachao’, ‘Mahilaon par atyachar nahi chalega’, ‘Bharat Mata ki jai’, ‘Tanashahi band karo’, ‘Jai Bheem, Jai Bharat’, and ‘Vande Mataram’.

The woman protestor has been identified as 42-year-old Neelam Kaur, while the man who was a part of the demonstration is 25-year-old Sagar Sharma.

As per reports, it is BJP MP from Mysore, Pratap Simha, on whose reference, a visitor’s pass was issued to the intruder who threw smoke cans inside the Lok Sabha.
