New Delhi: Producer Anand Pandit is excitedly looking forward to the release of his first Kannada co-production ‘Kabzaa’ on March 17th.

“‘Kabzaa’, I have said before, is a genre defining action entertainer and a period drama. However, one of the reasons why everyone is waiting for the film so eagerly is because it reunites Upendra with director R Chandru. These two have delivered blockbusters like ‘Brahma’ and ‘I Love You’ before and ‘Kabzaa’ will offer an altogether different experience to the audience,” said the filmmaker.

Pandit says he has always admired Upendra’s action avatars and adds, “My respect for him increased manifold after watching his explosive action sequences in ‘Kabzaa’. His performance graph shows us how a youth turns into a gangster in a story that begins in the pre-independence era and goes up to the 1980s. R Chandru and he have a fantastic tuning and they bring the best out of each other. What makes the film even more exciting is the star power of Kichcha Sudeep and Shriya Saran.”

Sudeep, reminds Pandit, did not only gain pan-Indian approval post the actioner ‘Vikrant Rona’ but is also known nationwide for his performances in SS Rajamouli’s ‘Eega’ and ‘Baahubali: The Beginning,’ apart from his many other hits.

Pandit himself is now an expert curator of talent and has successfully left his impact on Hindi, Gujarati, and Marathi industries. So confident is he about the success of ‘Kabzaa’ that he has also acquired the movie’s Hindi, Telugu, and Marathi rights.

The film is produced by Anand Pandit, R Chandru and Alankar Pandian and also stars Murali Sharma, Sunil Puranik, Posani Krishna Murali, and Pramod Shetty and its long-awaited trailer will be released on March 4.
