Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party chief spokesperson Mahesh Tapase on Monday wrote to President Droupadi Murmu seeking immediate removal of Maharashtra Governor BS Koshyari over his controversial statement disrupting the social equation of the state.

Tapase said it is the duty of the Governor to protect the fundamental rights of the citizens as per the Constitution and guide the State Government from time to time but unfortunately the Governor of this State always tries to be in the limelight.

Tapase’s remarks came after Koshyari’s recent remarks about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
