Met issues ‘orange’ alert for 9 districts of Telangana

Hyderabad: Meteorological Centre here on Saturday issued an ‘Orange’ alert of heavy to very heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Adilabad, Nirmal, Komaram Bheem, Nizamabad, Jagtial, Mancherial, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Peddapalli and Mulugu of Telangana in the next 24 hours.

It also issued ‘Yellow’ alert of heavy rain very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Rajanna Sircilla, Warangal, Hanmakonda, Mahabubabad, Khammam, Suryapet, Nalgonda, Jangaon, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri, Sangareddy, Medak, Vikarabad and Medchal Malkajgiri of the state during the same period.

Met also said Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning is likely to occur and gusty winds speed reaching 30-40 kmph is very likely to prevail at isolated places in all the districts of Telangana during the next 24 hours.

In the State Capital Hyderabad there will be generally cloudy sky. Moderate to Heavy Rain or thundershowers at times intense spells is very likely to occur in the city.

Surface winds is likely to be Northwesterlies with wind speed around 08-12 kmph, Met added.
