Military officials of India, SL discuss defence cooperation over phone

New Delhi: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday held a telephonic conversation with Sri Lanka’s Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Shavendra Silva and discussed issues of mutual interest and bilateral defence cooperation.

The Indian Army while giving the information on its social media Handle X said, “General Upendra Dwivedi COAS interacted with General Shavendra Silva, CDS Sri Lanka on a tele call and discussed issues of mutual interest & bilateral Defence Cooperation including ongoing Joint Military Exercise Mitra Shakti-2024 between India and Sri Lanka”.

It may be mentioned that India, Sri Lanka joint military exercise Mitra Shakti is currently going at the Army Training School, Maduru, Oya.

The drill that commenced on August 12 will conclude on 25th of this month.
