Panic ensued in the Collectorate premises in Rajasthan’s Ajmer on Tuesday, June 10, when a case of a Muslim man trying to convert an underage Hindu girl and marrying her came to the fore. After this came to light, Hindu organization leaders and advocates reached the spot, and when the situation seemed risky, the Muslim man ran away. This was when all the concerned individuals took the girl and her mother to the police station.

The girl’s mother alleged, ‘My daughter made me sign the marriage documents for my consent by threatening me of suicide.’ After the statements were recorded, the police registered a complaint against the accused for the attempt of forcefully converting the girl’s faith, kidnapping, and under the POCSO Act.

It was around 12 PM on Tuesday that the accused reached the collectorate in order to get the marriage documents ready, and as per his Aadhar Card, the man’s age is 28 years, while the girl’s mother informed the police that her daughter is aged 14-15 years. While the documents were being made, some advocates grew suspicious of the situation and they started questioning the man about the same. After pressure started to mount, the man fled the scene.

The girls’ parents now demand the accused man’s arrest, who is Muhammad Dildar, and belongs in Uttar Pradesh’s Muzaffarpur. As per the parents, Dildar was pressurizing them for the marriage and when they did not cave in, he took their daughter to the court. After this, it was known that he reached the collectorate to get the marriage documents made.

Speaking on the case, VHP’s Shashi Prakash Indoria said, ‘This is a case of Love Jihad, and Ajmer is being turned into a big centre of the same. The repeated attempts at Love Jihad that are being made will not be tolerated.’
