On Saturday, September 30, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), arrested the accused, Seiminlun Gangte, in a case related to a transnational conspiracy by Myanmar and Bangladesh-based leaderships of terror outfits, to wage a war against the Government of India, by exploiting the current ethnic unrest in the northeastern state of Manipur.

Investigation of the case RC 24/2023/NIA/DLI by the NIA revealed that militant groups based in Myanmar and Bangladesh, have entered into a conspiracy with a section of militant leaders in India to indulge in incidents of violence with an intention to drive a wedge between different ethnic groups and to wage a war against the Government of India.

For the purpose mentioned above, the militant leaderships of Myanmar and Bangladesh have been providing funds to procure arms, ammunition, and other types of terrorist hardware, which are being sourced, both from across the border, as well as from other terrorist outfits, active in northeastern states of India, to stroke the current ethnic strife in Manipur.

The arrested accused, Seiminlun Gangte, was brought to New Delhi after being nabbed, and will be produced before the jurisdictional court next. Further investigation is being carried out by the NIA in the case.
