Pakistan : 4 terrorists killed in twin operations

Islamabad: Pakistani armed forces killed four terrorists while another surrendered in two intelligence-based operations in Swabi and Dera Ismail Khan districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday.

As per Swabi District Police Officer Najamul Hassan, two of the terrorists blew themselves up and a third surrendered to police after law enforcement personnel encircled their hideout in Chota Lahor tehsil.

They said the militants opened fire on the security personnel after they were asked to surrender. The security forces retaliated and during exchange of fire, two militants blew themselves up with hand grenades, while the third one surrendered to police.

A large quantity of arms is believed to have been recovered from the possession of the dead militants.

Two police constables were also injured during the encounter who have been shifted to a nereby hospital.
