Simdega: Ultras belonging to the proscribed People’s Liberation Front of India set on fire a JCB and tractor involved in power grid construction work near Harijan Colony under the Kolibera Police Station area of this district.

Police sources on Thursday said that around midnight a group of PLFI ultras reached the spot and collected information from the night guards regarding the construction work and later poured petrol on the vehicles and set them on fire. It is suspected that the incident was executed for the want of levy.

A team of the Kolibera Police on Thursday morning reached on the spot and inquired into the incident. The guards claimed that the ultras also opened fire before leaving the spot.

A poster was also recovered from the spot through which the outfit had claimed responsibility for the incident.

Simdega SP Sourav said that ultras have set vehicles on fire and a pamphlet of PLFI has been recovered from the spot. Further probe was on.
