PM expresses happiness over Northeast emerging as a top tourist destination

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday expressed his happiness over Northeast emerging as a top tourist destination.

PM Modi, who has given special focus to the Northeast since after he since he came to power in the center, said that increased tourism means increased prosperity in the region.

In reply to the tweet thread by Union Minister for Culture, Tourism and Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) G Kishan Reddy, where the Minister had informed that the year 2022 witnessed record-breaking tourism in the Northeast with over 11.8 million domestic visitors and over 100,000 international travelers, the PM wrote,”Gladdening trend.”

Increased tourism means increased prosperity in the region, he said.

In a series of tweets, the DoNER minister said, “NorthEast: Emerges as a Top Tourism Destination!

The year 2022 witnessed record-breaking tourism in NER. Over 11.8 million domestic visitors .Over 100,000 international travelers.”

Reddy said the impressive growth in tourism reflects PM Modi’s commitment to infrastructural advancements and ushering a new era of tourism development in the region.
