New Delhi/Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on Friday hosted for a luncheon at the US State Department by US Vice President Kamala Harris and US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during which the two sides discussed on reinforcing the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
PM Modi in a tweet said:
“Attended a luncheon at the @StateDept, where I had the opportunity to interact with @VP@KamalaHarris, @SecBlinken and several other distinguished people from different walks of life.”
The MEA spokesperson in a tweet said:
“PM @narendramodi hosted by VP @KamalaHarris and Secretary of State @SecBlinken for a State Luncheon at the US Department of State.
“Discussions focused on further reinforcing the longstanding friendship and cooperation between India and US. Leaders also exchanged assessments on regional and global issues of importance.”
The two sides acknowledged the long-standing and deep-rooted ties between the two nations as well as discussed ways to further develop their cooperation in diverse fields.
Secretary of State Blinken in tweets said:
“Honored to host the State Luncheon for Indian Prime Minister @narendramodi. Our relationship with India is anchored in mutual understanding and enriched by the warm bonds of family and friendship that inextricably link our countries together.”
