New Delhi: Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge on Monday said that it was disappointing that the President’s address to both Houses of Parliament lacked any mention of the threats to the Constitution and democracy.

Speaking in Hindi during the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on President Droupadi Murmu’s address to Parliament, Kharge said that the address, which is a statement of policy of the Government, was full of self-appreciation and did not offer any message for the weaker sections of society.

“We are disappointed that there is nothing in it for the poor, Dalits, marginalised sections, or the backward classes,” he said.
