Hyderabad: Former AICC President Rahul Gandhi, as part of the election campaign for Telangana assembly election to be held on November 30, met contract workers, including drivers, delivery boys, sanitation workers and health workers at Khairatabad, here on Tuesday.

During a face-to-face interaction with them, Rahul enquired about their daily earnings. A delivery boy requested support in the form of two-wheelers and a reduction in petrol prices. Sanitary and health workers emphasized the need for Insurance, ESI, and PF facilities. Cab drivers voiced their concerns, stating that their issues have remained unresolved for the past ten years.

The workers alleged that only those associated with BRS were benefiting from welfare measures, while auto drivers lamented that their hard-earned money was being substantially spent on petrol and diesel.

Assuring the contract workers, Rahul Gandhi pledged that, if Congress comes to power, he will personally address their concerns with the Chief Minister.
