On Wednesday night, in the Jagannath puri area of Rajasthan’s capital, Jaipur, a case of road rage exacerbated so much that some miscreants entered the home of a youth and murdered him. The victim, 23 -years-old Vikas Banjara, along with his friend, Ramkaran, had gone to a Dussehra fair on Wednesday night.

DCP South, Yogesh Goyal, and Mansarovar ACP, Harishakar have said that both of them were returning home after watching the fair, and on their way near his home, when Vikas asked one Shivam Sharma to move aside a little, it led to a skirmish. Station Officer Mahavir Singh Rathore said that after the fight, when Shivam and his accomplices started following Vikas, the latter slapped one of them. Following this, at 12.15 at night, 10 youths entered Vikas’ home and beat him mercilessly with bricks and sticks. Vikas was a lab technician in one of Jaipur’s private hospitals.

Vikas had gotten married a mere 18 months ago and is survived by his wife and a 7 months old daughter.

While Shivam Sharma, the prime accused has been arrested by the police, the rest are absconding. SHO Mahavir Singh added that Sharma was caught within 6 hours. A complaint against unknown miscreants has been filed by Vikas’ father, Gajanand.
