SER records 4.6 pc revenue growth in first 7 months of current fiscal

Kolkata: South Eastern Railway (SER) has recorded an increased revenue of 4.6 percent with ferrying freight of 122.14 million tonnes in the first 7 months ( April-October) of the current financial year, 2024-25, an official statement said on Sunday.

The freight loading also recorded a record of 2.41 percent growth higher than the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

SER recorded a 4.6 pc in originating freight revenue in April-October, 2024 in comparison to the same period of last financial year.

During April-October 2024, the revenue generation from originating freight loading was Rs 11144.72 crore as against Rs. 10656.93 crore during the same period of the previous year.

SER has loaded 31.95 mt of Coal during April-October, 2024 which was 7.87 pc more than the corresponding month of last fiscal.

Other major commodities of freight loading were Iron Ore, Pig Iron & Finished Steel, Cement, Food grains, Fertilizers etc.
