New Delhi: Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare and Rural Development, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Tuesday launched a new digital platform, “Bharat-VISTAAR,” in Jaipur, alongside Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, aimed at empowering farmers across the country.

According to the agriculture minister, the AI-based platform is designed to provide farmers with critical information on all aspects of agriculture, including weather updates, wholesale market prices, pest and disease control, soil health and tips and crop-related information.
The platform will also inform farmers about various government schemes, consolidating all essential information in a single, easy-to-access system. Initially available through phone calls, the service will soon be accessible via a mobile application as well.

Chouhan stated that the platform will not only enrich, but also empower, and simplify farming by making solutions available to the farmers with just a click.

The AI-enabled platform will reach lakhs of farmers across multiple states, providing timely guidance on fertilizer use, crop protection, current market trends, best practices, and government programs that can immensely benefit the farmers and boost productivity as well as income.

Designed as a voice-first, AI-powered digital public infrastructure, the system ensures farmers can access expert advice around the clock, without the need to travel or spend excessive time and effort.

This initiative promises to make farming more efficient, informed, and profitable for the country’s agricultural community.
