Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief MInister M.K.Stalin on Friday chaired the first meeting of TN Climate Change Mission committee at the State Secretariat here.
Ministers, Secretaries and members of various departments took part in the meeting in which ction plans to reduce the effects of climate change and formulation of guidelines were discussed.
Avoiding the use of plastic and methods to reduce air pollutions also came up for discussion in the meeting.
In his address, the Chief Minister said this meeting assumes importance as India has joined the G20 Presidency.
He also Climate awareness movement will soon be launched to create awareness among students and public.
“We must also be prepared to handle heat waves. “It not only effects human beingss, but also various species are threatened by the climate change”, he added.
