The murder of Sunanda Pushkar wife of Congress MP Shashi Tharoor continues to remain a mystery but it also continues to keep alive serious questions on what would appear to be a cover-up at the highest level of government authorities and political players in this game of death.
If we go down memory lane into the investigations of the Delhi Police into the case you might remember that while doing a background check on everyone staying at the Leela Hotel in New Delhi around and during the time of Sunanda Pushkar’s death, they found out that three people stayed at the hotel between January 13th and January 18th 2014 using fake passports.
It was later learned during the interrogation of the hotel staff that the three fake passport holders staying at the hotel were foreign nationals.
Sunanda Pushkar died on January 17th, 2014.
Following this lead, a team lead by an Assistant Commissioner of Police travelled to Dubai to conduct further investigations into the foreign nationals who were residing in Dubai and also investigate the suspicion of links of the the cricketing world to the mysterious death of Sunanda Tharoor.
However, the Delhi Police till date has not made public the details of the their investigations into the foreign nationals with fake passports for which they traveled to Dubai.
Sunanda’s body had 15 injury marks, which strengthens our suspicion that it was not a suicide but a murder. All injuries were caused by a blunt force and non-contributing to death expect the two – one at 3 cm above right wrist (injury number 10) caused by the needle of syringe and the other was a teeth bite mark (injury number 12). The injury number 10 appeared to have been done forcefully which is an indication that the poison was injected into her body. The injuries number 1 to 15 is of various duration ranging from 12 hours to 4 days which hint towards a scuffle. We examining all statements and circumstantial evidences about the reason for physical injuries on Pushkar’s body,” said the police official who is part of the SIT in a media report.
Another important vital aspect which the Delhi Police seemed to have kept quiet on its investigations is that they have not yet filed (but has promised the Court) Supplementary Charge-Sheet on the 15 injury marks on Sunanda’s body, found in the post-mortem report.
Neither have the Delhi Police made the details of the polygraph taken public.
The pertinent question still remains on who is protecting Shashi Tharoor and who is guiding the Delhi Police’s investigations.
