Three insurgent cadres arrested in Manipur

Imphal: In a series of coordinated operations across Manipur, during the last 24 hours security forces apprehended three active insurgent cadres linked to outlawed outfits, police today said.

The first arrest took place at the Khurai Kongpal Thoubandong area under Porompat Police Station, Imphal East.

According to police, the person was involved in operating a self-styled “kangaroo court” that settled land disputes, criminal cases including crimes against women, and loan recoveries in the valley regions.

In a separate operation security personnel arrested a militant from Leirongthel Pitra near a primary school in Thoubal district.

The third arrest was made at Charangpat Mamang Leikai under Thoubal Police Station.

All three individuals are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing. Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to intensifying counter-insurgency efforts and maintaining peace in the region.
