TN govt recommends NIA probe into car blast case

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu Government on Wednesday recommended to the Centre to order a National Investigation Agency (NIA) probe into the Coimabtore car blast, in which a suspected IS radicalist Jameesha Mubin, was killed early on Sunday.

A decision to recommend NIA probe was taken at a high level meeting chaired by Chief Minister M.K.Stalin at the State Secretariat in which the present status of the investigation by the State police and the preventive measures put in place in Coimbatore in the wake of the blast were discussed.
