Prayagraj: To ensure smooth travel for devotees and tourists during Maha Kumbh, the Traffic Police have devised a detailed plan, emphasising seamless management across seven key routes to Prayagraj for major bathing festivals and regular days.

The traffic plan devised by the police outlines seven main routes leading to the Mahakumbh Mela and Commissionerate area from various directions. These include the Jaunpur, Varanasi, Mirzapur, Rewa/Banda, Kanpur, Lucknow, and Pratapgarh routes.

According to an estimate, 21 percent of traffic is expected from the Jaunpur route and 18 percent from the Rewa/Banda route.

Similarly, 16 percent are expected to reach via the Varanasi route, whereas 14 percent and 12 percent are expected to arrive through Kanpur and Mirzapur routes respectively.

Besides, 10 percent of people are expected to come from Lucknow and 9 percent from Pratapgarh.

With over 40 crore pilgrims expected, the traffic plan includes designated parking for large and small vehicles and pedestrian-friendly measures.

One-way routes will be enforced in the fair area, and SSP Kumbh Mela will implement real-time diversions in case of excessive crowds.

These arrangements aim to facilitate seamless access for devotees, ensuring an uninterrupted and spiritually fulfilling experience during the holy event.
