Agartala: In a stride towards international collaboration and indigenous empowerment, the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) has signed three strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent UK-based institutions, said the ruling party of ADC TIPRA Motha, founder and executive member Pradyot Kishore Debbarman.
The agreements focus on skill development, cultural promotion, and academic exchange, marking a significant milestone in Tripura’s global outreach efforts. The MoUs were signed during the ADC’s first-ever United Kingdom Cultural Tour, which showcased the vibrant TIPRASA heritage on prestigious international platforms, including India Week and Bournemouth University.
The delegation, led by Pradyot and Paul Dangshu, Tripura’s youngest MLA representing the TIPRA Motha Party, engaged in high-level discussions and formalised partnerships across key sectors—Culture, Sports, Education, and Skill Development, which returned on Wednesday.
Speaking at a special event hosted by the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Pradyot underscored the importance of India’s Northeast in the national and global narrative.
“The Northeast is not just a strategic part of India; it is an integral part of the nation’s soul. Anyone visiting India must explore the Northeast, especially Tripura, with its unique cuisine, culture, language, and traditions. We are immensely proud of our roots and heritage. Through these collaborations, we aim to build a brighter, inclusive future for our people—and we invite the world to be part of this journey,” he said.
During the visit, Regis Academy of Leadership and Skills, UK, signed an MoU to offer subsidised skill development training for indigenous youth, aimed at enhancing employability and educational standards in ADC areas.
They also interacted with ReeIN, a UK-based cultural media firm, and entered into an agreement to promote Tripura’s indigenous art, film, and cultural heritage across the UK, connecting local talent to global opportunities, and Bournemouth University expressed strong interest in future cultural and academic collaborations, including student exchanges and joint research initiatives, Pradyot added.
