Moscow: The United Kingdom and France are unlikely to deploy tens of thousands of troops to Ukraine, and the so-called “coalition of the willing” is exploring alternative ways to guarantee Kiev’s security, The Times newspaper reported.

The “coalition of the willing” is focusing on protecting Ukraine from the air and sea, as well as deploying military instructors on the ground to help replenish the Ukrainian armed forces, the report said on Tuesday.

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s office said that the “coalition of the willing” and the United States would discuss plans on providing security guarantees to Ukraine in the coming days.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov has said that the presence of NATO states’ troops on Ukrainian territory, under any flag and in any capacity, including as peacekeepers, is a threat to Russia, and that Moscow will not accept it under any circumstances.
