Kyiv: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the United States and the European Union had not yet made a decision on the deployment of their troops in Ukraine.
“I cannot, in fact, discuss this publicly now … there are no decisions on this issue. There is some desire, political will … I cannot share details before a decision is made, a unified decision by the US and the EU, this is very important,” Zelenskyy said at a press conference on Thursday when asked about security guarantees for Kiev and whether they would include the deployment of Western troops in Ukraine.
In late November, the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service said that the West was planning to deploy some 100,000 “peacekeepers” in Ukraine to restore Ukraine’s combat capability.
