Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini said on Thursday Wrestler Vinesh Phogat will be treated as a champion by his government and will get all the facilities, respect, awards, etc. as a medal winner.

He wrote on X (earlier Twitter) that Haryana’s brave daughter Vinesh performed amazingly to reach the Olympic final. Even though she could not play in the final for some reasons, for all of us, she remains a champion.

He wrote that his government has decided that Vinesh will be welcomed and felicitated as a medalist. Whatever facilities, awards, and respect are given by the state government to a silver medalist, they will be given to Vinesh.

“We are proud of you, Vinesh,” he said.
